Frequently Asked Questions.
Why is my body butter melted
Like chocolate, our whipped body butter melts when exposed to hot temperatures. This occurs primarily during the summer months. This is because we formulate it with all-natural ingredients and do not include any waxes or emulsifiers.
Refined Vs. Unrefined Shea Butter
Refined Shea butter: The refining process removes the color and scent and, in the process, most of the natural healing properties of Shea Butter. Refined Shea Butter has a longer shelf life and is still a good moisturizer, but it lacks the natural skin-regenerating benefits of Unrefined Shea Butter. Refining the butter strips away all the goodness of shea butter. Raw, unrefined shea butter has powerful moisturizing properties and is enriched with vitamins A and E.
Texture Variations Due to Weather
During the winter, shea butter will be harder due to the cold. Let shea butter thaw out at room temperature before using. During the summer, unrefined shea butter will be softer and sometimes melt. Unrefined Shea Butter will solidify once it comes to a lower temperature. The rest of the year, unrefined shea butter will be easier to use and handle.
Why is the color of my Shea Butter different
The color of pure unrefined shea butter ranges from light buttery yellow to beige, depending on each shea season.
Help my hipped shea butter melted and has become grainy. How do I fix it? (addresses whipped body butter reduced quantity)
Our product is natural and whipped; the shea butter tends to melt if left out for too long in a hot mailbox/front porch/car.
When it melts, the whipped texture introduced during production is lost, and natural oils condense hence the “reduction” in size. The product itself is still good to use. The only way to fix this is to whip it back up again or use it as it is.
Aroma of Unrefined Shea Butter
Unrefined Shea butter has a nutty, earthy aroma.
